SVG-VGE VME Video Graphics Engine

Synergy Microsystems, Inc.

SVG-VGE VME Video Graphics Engine (VGE) is a special-purpose graphicsengine for realtime animation of 2-D symbology. VGE is a three-board setof 6U VME cards designed to work in SPARC VME host systems. VGE is mostcommonly used in aircraft simulation applications. VGE can simulate bothmechanical and electrical instrumentation by allowing the applicationdesigner to define a series of shapes and symbols to represent thedesired controls. Once defined, VGE treats these shapes and symbols asprenative objects, rotating and scaling them at a rate of up to eightmillion pixels per second. With VGE's robust onboard processing power, very little VMEbus bandwidth is used during normal processing. Thisimpressive architecture, when combined with its relatively modest cost, makes the VGE especially attractive to simulation system integrators.
